Here are a some comments from a few of our guests...
The upstairs master suite was, to say the least, jaw-droppingly impressive ...
"We first set eyes on the Pink House 6 years ago during our stay at the Mount Hay Retreat in February 2004. It could be glimpsed from the balcony of our suite, a few hundred metres away, perched on the very top of Mahogany Ridge. Back then we were told that the Pink House was for sale and we had one of those 'If only we could win the lottery' wishfull thinking moments.
Fast forward to 2010 and we have just returned from a week's stay at the Pink House (having still not won the lottery yet). A week was, of course, far too short a time for any holiday on Tobago, but due to work commitments etc. a week was all we could spare.
So, down to the review.
Having used the excellent reports here on MyTobago as a basis for my research and following the link to the owner's website I was pretty much familiar with what to expect, but I didn't tell Lyn where we were staying, as I wanted this to be a surprise. My subterfuge was enhanced by the fact that we arrived later than scheduled, due to a flight delay, so it was dark as we headed away from Crown Point in our hire car. (I knew the way, but those who don't, can be escorted to the Pink House)
Fifteen minutes later and entering Black Rock, Lyn was still none the wiser and even when I took the familiar right turn up the steep and winding lane towards the ridge, she was still guessing. Pulling up to the gated drive of the Pink House the penny at last dropped and we were greeted by manager Susan who showed us around. I could tell Lyn was happy with my choice, as she was unsusually quiet, as Susan familiarised us with the lay-out of the ground floor. One of Understated elegance is how I would describe my first impression.
The upstairs master suite was, to say the least, jaw-droppingly impressive. Without doubt the Jewel in the crown. Owner Sandra then came over from her cottage to offer a welcome drink and we chatted for a while before the effects of our long journey overcame us.
I got up early (still dark) to go fishing for a few hours and when I returned, Lyn was having a cup of tea on the verandah, over-looking the swimming pool, the extensive gardens and beyond, the Grafton bird sanctuary and then a stunning view of Courland Bay.
'What do you think?' I asked.
'It's perfect' was her reply.
Readers of the previous reviews will have read about the facilities at the Pink House, so I won't repeat what has already been written as it's all true.
In fact it is hard to find the words to truly convey how much we enjoyed our stay at the Pink House adequately, but to sum up, the words that do come easily to mind are -
Serene
Peaceful
Tranquil
Relaxing
Carefree
Chilled
Restful
Heavenly
Revitalising
Invigorating
Beautiful
Perfect
and
When can we go back again?. "

We highly recommend the Pink House ...
"This was our third trip to Tobago, 24th to the Caribbean; yea we like the island as it is still undeveloped and uncrowded. We prefer cooking on the grill to eating out and love the dailiy afternoon 5 min. trip to buy fresh fish right off the boat. Several of the best beaches on the island are within 5 min. of the Pink House, all have shade or sun whichever you prefer.
Hanging out on the PH deck with it's great view of the Caribbean or at the pool often beats a trip to the beach.
We've driven the entire island, and I mean every road there is several times, and the PH location in the Black Rock/Stonehaven area is the absolutely the best, most private, most convenient there is.
We've also checked out many other villas and hotels and will always return to the PH. It is very private, abutting a bird sanctuary and if you're there in the right season pick your own fresh limes/lemons and tangerines, they were great.
The PH has an open floor plan creating a pleasant, airy atmosphere and there is a constant breeze, we never even needed the ceiling fans. The kitchen has everyting needed down to an ice maker, microwave, dishwasher and french press coffee maker. The satellite TV was fine as was the internet connection with wifi.
The huge second floor bedroom is to die for with a wrap around balcony. We've never experienced anything but friendliness on Tobago, no problems with the inhabitants.
We highly recommend the Pink House but I will not be buttonholed into suggesting the PH for specific groups as it would be presumptious of me to assume I Know your kids or teenagers or parents or your likes and dislikes. Suffice to say it is ideal for Joyce and me.
I would be remiss if I did not advise anyone (and with all due respect to Sandra who is a wonderful host) to make sure Sandra is there when you arrive to show you around, give you the wifi password, etc. unless she has gotten around to writing all this important info into a Pink House guide book ."

Everything was gorgeous ...
"We have just returned from a wonderful stay at the Pink House and cannot wait to return. Everything was gorgeous - breathtaking views all around, parrots flying overhead as we ate breakfast on the huge veranda, extremely comfortable four-poster beds and lovely bathrooms, paradise beaches 10 minutes away. The house is luxurious without being flashy and the master suite is stunning. And then there is the wonderful Sandra who is a mixture between perfect hostess who is there when you need and yet never intrusive and a superb concierge who has the best contacts on the island - surfing lessons for the kids, no problem! Boat trip and BBQ - is tomorrow OK? massage on the balcony at sunset - sorted! Thank you, we will be back!"

Total bliss - and a total bargain too ...
"Having been all over the Caribbean I've become a little jaded about what to expect – lots of it seems quite fake but the pink house really made me feel for the first time that i had a home here all of my own – a place to relax, and chill out for downtime and a perfect base from which to explore Tobago. The pink house managers are charming and full of good advice about what to do, but what you'll really want to do most is stay here, look at the view and count down the time until you can come back because it's total bliss – and a total bargain too. I couldn't have asked for more ...
"I´ve stayed in many Caribbean villas but this is one I would like to return to again and again. Stunning sea views, lush tropical gardens, a beautiful house that instantly made me feel relaxed and at home. Peace, seclusion and my own piece of paradise... I couldn´t have asked for more. A very special place indeed and one I would highly recommend to friends and family without hesitation."

It's fabulous...
"It's fabulous. I don't normally feel inspired to write reviews but the Pink Cottage really is a special place to stay. Secluded with beautiful views and set at the top of hill in lush countryside. I had a fantastic holiday there. A breath-taking walk (literally – it's a very steep hill) to some stunning beaches and a few restaurants – a short drive from everything else. It's a great place to stay"

Stunning, tropical and very private...
"Stunning, tropical, very private, spacious, breezy, romantic with breath taking views. A perfect retreat to calm the mind and evoke the senses. Good location for seeing the whole island yet being isolated and not imposed upon by neighbours. Much care and attention has been taken to make this villa a truly wonderful and memorable experience. I would recommend this holiday destination for families, lovers, and groups of friends."

Pink House - a bit of paradise...
"We just spent nine glorious days (Mar. 13-21) at the Pink House, on Mahogany Ridge, in Tobago. The view is spectacular - the Caribbean Sea beckons from the back deck and the Atlantic from the front door. Bordering on the Grafton Bird Sanctuary, The Pink House offers the best in birding. The gardens are lush and tropical and the accommodations are fabulous. For those seeking tranquil surroundings and a restful spot, The Pink House is your Shangrila.
We will be back in the near future, but this time for a longer holiday. Thanks for everything Sandra."
